Joel Teklu specializes in entertainment transactions, with
an emphasis on negotiating and drafting agreements related
to the development and production of unscripted television
programming, scripted series and feature films.
Prior to joining Doyle & Miller, LLP, Joel practiced in the
business and legal affairs group at Fox Television Studios,
where he was responsible for negotiating a wide variety of
development deals, and served as production attorney on
episodes of “The Good Guys” (Fox Network), “The Killing”
(AMC) and “White Collar” (USA). Joel also worked as an
attorney at NBC Universal’s Television Legal Group, where he
was responsible for the day-to-day negotiation and drafting
of numerous production agreements for all NBCU scripted
television programming. During law school, Joel held legal
internships at MGM’s Library Rights Management group, Warner
Bros.’ Domestic Television Distribution division, and
Yulchon, an international law firm in Seoul, Korea.
Joel is a graduate of the University of Southern California
Law School where he participated in the Moot Court Honors
Program and the Post-Conviction Justice Clinic. He received
an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia
University, with a major in political science and a
concentration in psychology. Between college and law school,
Joel worked as an Intelligence Analyst at the Central
Intelligence Agency and as an Account Manager at Procter &
Gamble, where he also interned during college for four
summers. |

attorney volunteer at the Mesereau Free Legal Clinic in
Inglewood, California. |
